Manager - Football Operations (Full Time)

Eastlake Football Club has both senior and junior teams playing in the AFL Canberra competition. The Club is located in the central suburb of Kingston which is just 300 metres from both Kingston Oval, the Club’s training facility and the picturesque Manuka Oval which is Eastlake’s home ground. Eastlake boasts two very successful licensed clubs and has built strong relationships with various sporting, charitable and welfare organisations in the Canberra community.

Eastlake is seeking a person with proven sporting and administration experience to make a positive contribution to the Club’s sporting success. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to strategically think, plan lead and influence.

The Club is seeking applications from suitably qualified people with a passion for AFL to join our Club in the role of Football Operations Manager.

The role includes:

1.     Overall management of the day to day operations of both seniors and juniors.

2.     Development and training of players and staff to ensure Eastlake fields competitive sides in all grades.

3.     Implement the strategic direction of the football Committee.

4.     Assisting in player, coaching and support staff recruitment and development of a structured recruiting plan.

5.     Management of player welfare and contracts in accordance with Company policy.

6.     Demonstrated financial proficiency and understanding of proper financial control procedures.

7.     Monthly reporting on all aspects of the football department.

With the inclusion of GWS in the AFL Canberra competition in 2011 and the possible Northern Conference incorporating the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns in 2012, the challenges and rewards of this position are enormous. Experience working in a sporting organisation would be highly desirable. A generous salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
